Every Fashion Week, like the city where it is held, has its own style, approach to organization, and vision of trends. You have to agree that if everything was the same at every event, no one would be interested in it. So, let's find out what makes each of them special.
Fashion week in Paris
Although fashion shows were actively popularized before the World War II, the first officially recognized Paris Fashion Week was held in 1973. Since then, it has been considered the largest and most important in the world community. It always lasts longer than in other cities because it is the epicenter of fashion houses and fashionistas. French brands such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, Chloe, and Dior demonstrate their collections here. Streetstyle is also at a high level in Paris.
Stylish fitted suits, luxurious feminine dresses, textured designs and heels are favored in this city. Elegance and sophistication in Paris are complemented by bold, intricate jewelry, often with gemstones. Dior, Cartier, Boucheron, Chaumet, and others usually present their jewelry at the Haute Couture Weeks. The slogan is as follows: if the earrings - then long and catchy, if the diamonds - then not one or two.
Fashion week in New York
Something similar to the modern New York Fashion Week first appeared in 1943. Due to the war in Europe, fashion of which was the standard for local women, American designers got a chance to develop and promote their style solutions. In a short period of time, they achieved unprecedented success.
Nowadays, brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, and Oscar de la Renta are often represented in New York. The capital of American fashion is known for its casual and modern style with a touch of chic. Speaking of jewelry, local fashionistas often wear accessories of various geometric shapes. They love expressive designs made of solid gold and silver. Inlays in jewelry, especially colored ones, are not so common. Among the brands that are usually present at the fashion events are Tiffany & Co. and David Yurman.
Fashion week in Milan
Not many people know that the original center of Italian fashion was Florence. The first Fashion Week was held there in1951. In a short period of time, the event became so successful that the city simply could not cope with the volume of guests. As a result, all fashion shows were re-located to Milan.
On the local catwalks you will find creations of Italian fashion houses such as Gucci, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi and so on. Bold color combinations, non-standard cuts and textures. This is probably the best way to briefly describe the essence of Italian fashion. Local fashionistas and brands, such as Bulgari, Buccelatti, and others, love massive jewelry. Wide bracelets, bulky rings, and eye-catching necklaces form the basis of jewelry trends in Milan and Italy in general.
Fashion week in London
For the first time, Fashion Week came to England in 1984. Unique visions of local designers, as well as tolerance to such trends as punk and grunge, did their job. London Fashion Weeks is a godsend for those who love eccentricity, uniqueness and eclecticism, but also do not mind following the eternal benchmark classics. Here, you can find innovative designers and Burberry lovers.
In London, bold design ideas are expressed not only in interesting cuts and textures of clothes, but also in jewelry. The number of bright and unusual accessories from little-known and well-known designers will really surprise you. However, there is also something to see for those who appreciate elegant jewelry solutions.
