Ear piercing: I wish I might

Ear piercing has become increasingly popular in recent years. Even though it was often considered as a sign of a person's affiliation with a particular trend or group, nowadays it is identified as an ideal tool for self-expression and demonstration of individual style.

Any outfit looks interesting when it is complemented by the relevant jewelry. And in the case of ear piercings, you have even more opportunities to experiment and create different combinations of accessories.

If you have been thinking about opening up new spaces for creativity for a long time, then read on and learn more about ear piercing: its main types, how to prepare for it, and how to choose the right jewelry.

Ear piercing: the main types

Ears are a part of the body that has many nerve endings, so you can not get pierced anywhere, but in specially designated “safe” areas. This way, you will avoid possible problems (such as pain, abscesses, etc.) and enjoy wearing several of your favorite earrings at once. Here are the most popular types of ear piercings:

  • Earlobe. This is the most common spot, which is also called classic. You can have from 1 to 3 studs here, depending on the size of the lobe. Here is how our Nimbo transforming earrings can look on an ear with two lobe piercings:

  • Cartilage piercing near the ear canal (or tragus piercing). It is not the most painless place to pierce, but it is quite popular because the earring in this part always looks interesting and attracts a lot of attention. Below you can see this type of piercing in combination with our Punto earrings.

  • Piercing of the forward helix. This type of piercing is done on the upper outer part of the auricle. In some cases, you can find such piercings almost at the junction of the ear and face. However, our cuff from the Verano earrings set can be attached to the ear's helix, even if you do not have a piercing:

  • Piercing of the outer part of the auricle. In this case, the jewelry is worn between the earlobe and the beginning of the helix. Mostly, accessories in the form of rings are chosen for such studs. Below you can see an example of our Bola cuffs placed on the outer part of the earlobe (no piercings are required to wear them):

How to prepare for a piercing

The very first piece of advice that can be given if you are going to get your ear pierced is to find a good piercer. It's worth looking at his or her works, asking for feedback from clients, consulting before the procedure, and paying attention to cleanliness and sterility.

Prepare yourself for the fact that piercing can be quite painful, but it is important to calm down, not to disturb the master, and to breathe during the procedure. This way, you will undergo all the manipulations in the same breath.

Always listen carefully to the aftercare recommendations from the piercer and be ready to allocate time during the day to take care of the piercing.

Before the procedure, you can also choose earrings. At first, we advise you to pay attention to something comfortable and minimalistic. Usually, these are either stud earrings or thin rings of small diameter. As for the materials of these accessories, you can buy gold and silver, as well as medical gold.

In case you are not ready for piercing or if you have only one standard piercing, you can pay attention to our Entero transforming cuff-ring or Verano asymmetrical earrings. These accessories will definitely help you to be noticed.
